This is a program that shows bird names is various languages. The search language can be changed.
Tested on a HTC Hero and Desire.

All comments are more than welcome.

Tip: if you change

lvNames.SingleLineLayout.ItemHeight = 35
to
lvNames.SingleLineLayout.ItemHeight = 35dip

then the ListView will show up fine on all devices.

Also, under Select search language: Deutch = Deutsch

Your program really looks impressive (already downloaded it a few days ago).
I will start using it when the nights are getting warmer here, ha, ha.

I'm working on another program for birding, will take a while before it has all the functionality that I have in mind (with pictures).

This translator only contains birds that are seen in Europe.
You can download the worldlists of birds and other species at: Observado.org -> Overviews -> Downloads
On this site you can enter your sightings as well and you are more than welcome to do so (no sightings from Okinawa yet )

Must be a beautiful area for birding where you live and I am looking forward to see your picture of the Chinese bulbul.

Problem compiling your code - any ideas

Hi I'm trying to run you app, encountered this problem - any ideas.

I'm using a Galaxy Tab, v1.30 of B4A.

res\drawable\icon.png:0: error: Resource entry icon is already defined.
res\drawable\icon.gif:0: Originally defined here.

And it goes no further .

Go to <source folder>\Objects\Res\drawable and delete one of the icon files.

Hello,

The original post contains a new version of the species translator.
Added a wildcard inputfield and a Search button and another ListView with the alphabet.

Hope that the .zip contains all the files needed ..........
