"StartUp" application (see picture ) is waiting for icons to be displayed next to the programs' names. The images were done manually

The application helps to arrange the programs in the device for easy launching. It has editing capabilities to add, delete, move and rename directories and programs (only the names in its data file). On first activation, if you want to, it searches the start menu of the device and copy all the shortcuts in the same order, and I would like it to get the icons as well.
Blist can show images but how do you extract the icon image from the program ? I showed some links here http://www.b4x.com/forum/questions-help-needed/5230-icon-image.html#post30723 but I don't know how to do it.

And btw - blist can accept ico file as an image (item.SetImageFromFile) but it works only on the Desktop. On the Device it creates an "Out of memory" error. The blist help says: "Proper file types are bmp, jpg, gif, png, tiff."
