This comes from a library that still depends on Android Support library: android/support/v4/ You can go back to Android Support sdk by download the old "Ready to run" sdk. You can keep both SDKs and switch between them as needed.

As I wrote, start with the ready to run SDK. It will allow you to develop without running the manager. The next step is to solve the display issue. Tell us when you got the first step working.
