I'm noticing that b4x updates are becoming less and less frequent, when I think that a lot could be done especially in the graphics part, maybe with predefined layouts and much more.. maybe it would be good to start studying Flutter? What do you tell us about this? Will you support the program? Do you have any news about it?

Really? It’s even updating when google (in B4A case) just ask new requirements

This can be done with any version, or by the community…

maybe it would be good to start studying Flutter?
For sure, always is a good moment to learn new things…
Will you support the program
I think it’s obvious

Just my opinion…

What do you want to create?
What makes you think Flutter has the special feature that not available in B4X?

I said flutter to give an example of another more supported and updated language, as React-Native could be. I'm really happy with B4X. That's why I hope for constant development.

Dear friend,

Sometimes we are uncontainable. If there are continuous updates we complain because we have to update our code and for years perhaps we are used to a method. When we don't receive it, we worry because we think we were still. 😁
The reality that we still do not know everything you need to know about B4X, if we want to news we start to explore other boundaries that we have not achieved the potential of B4X.
But knowing other languages is also important to have a global vision of how the information technology sector is moving, so if you want to learn new and modern languages such as Pascal, Fortren or Cobol is an excellent idea. 😜

It is being updated. Sometimes faster and sometimes slower.

The next step for B4X is PyBridge. It has large potential for many new things (B4J only).
wow great news Erel. i am dealing with python lately and i really like it. i am sure it will be a great addition to b4j. 🤘

can you share little more details about PyBridge..it sounds Python related...is it B4P (B4 python)? or the possibility to add python code to B4j?

PyBridge has nothing to do with python
B4J is a bridge between B4X language and Java code on a host.
B4A/B4I/B4R is a bridge between B4X language and Android Java/iOS*/MCU's C++ code on a target host (* no idea about B4I details).
B4A/B4J-bridge is a bridge between developer's host and target Android/other OS host running a Java app.
PyBridge is a bridge between Python and B4J.

Simple terminology wrapping tons of Erel-o-years of work.

Since I am not very intelligent, I have the bad habit of criticizing, in the deepest sense of the word, even the things I love.

I'll start from the end, with something that will hurt Erel the most, sorry.
I didn't appreciate the idea of PyBridge, because it's a bit like saying: B4J is not enough, let's give him the possibility to take advantage of code from another language. This will not bring programmers who know Python closer to B4J, rather the opposite, it could push B4X programmers to Python.

I suppose that PyBridge was (still is) a complex work, hard work. I think that 99% of "Wishes" is made up of small things, certainly not revolutionary or indispensable, but 1% probably is. I think I would deal more with this, rather than PyBridge, but I think that by now this addition cannot be abandoned (and should not be abandoned).

I would like a new thread where those who have opened some "Wish" in the past that they consider important, repeat JUST ONE in this new thread.

(Fortunately, this forum does not have dislikes 😁).

More seriously, I hate the fact that the B4J IDE doesn't make coffee!

Thinking about it a bit more (since I haven't had a coffee - B4J), I'm not sure I'd really like this:
I would like a new thread where those who have opened some "Wish" in the past that they consider important, repeat JUST ONE in this new thread.
as I myself would be hard pressed to choose just one of my old "Wishes". Also, it would be helpful if everyone could vote on these new posts, but maybe "Likes" would be enough.

I should add that, despite the great work @alwaysbusy has done with ABMaterial and BAnano, I think it would be better if web development was integrated into the core of B4J. I know for a fact that some members are still lost, struggling with these tools scattered around the site.

The purpose of B4X is to help developers get their job done. There are many tasks that can be done in Python quite easily and are very difficult to do in the "JVM world".
PyBridge will hopefully make many of these tasks easier to implement, thus pushing B4X forward and making it more powerful. And that is a good thing.
Time will tell...
