Android Question Transparency Opening Screen

This is my first posting and have, what could be considered, an odd question.
What I am trying to do is to actually open my app without hiding the users main screen. What I want to do is to open my app showing the background and have a button appear on the screen. The user clicks on the button and my app does what it needs to do and then closes.
Is this possible?

Thank you for your prompt reply - much appreciated - however I don't think it is what I am looking at. I am uploading an image that I would like to be able to recreate in a working app. You will see my button above the background apps page.

Check out @JordiCP chatheads example/lib
It places a clickable "button" on the top most "layer"

Thank you cableguy but I can't seem to find the post you are referring to .... I have gone thru all of JordiCP posts and (beside the Spanish ones) found nothing . perhaps not looking in the right place ?

maybe.

Better use the version from @Informatix (part of the Pro-Bundle i have in mind)

I did see this during my travels around the libraries etc. I think I have found what I need without having to load this and it is very simple - however I will test the simple way first and hopefully my problem should be resolved .... thank you for your assistance.
