Android Question To record an audio in mp3 format

Hi,

I want to record simple(no music) small audios.I am creating wav files which are having big size.I want to create it in mp3 which are much smaller.
I could not find relevant code.
Can someone please guide me.

I think you have to record in .wav and then convert it to mp3, for example with
