Android Question [SOLVED] - View to display gauge or digital display for showing time

Greetings,

Can this gauge library show time values? If not, did anyone write a class or library like it to do that? I plan on using the B4XSeekbar to populate the value property for the gauge or digital display in the view.

If it can, can you let me know how to do it?

Thanks.

Thanks for the code and hint. I was able to get it to display text by creating these new lines of code in the class. This is the first time attempting anything like this. I still have more coding to add but at least I got it to display text which will be shown as hours and minutes. I will add coding later to convert the minutes to hours and minutes which will be populated into strTextValue when mCurrentValue changes.

Before any subroutines:
#DesignerProperty: Key: TextValue, DisplayName: Text Value, FieldType: String, DefaultValue:

Subroutine Class_Globals:
Private strTextValue As String

Subroutine DesignerCreateView:
strTextValue = Props.Get("TextValue")

Subroutine DrawIndicator:
If strTextValue <> "" Then
    mlbl.Text = strTextValue.ToUpperCase
Else
    mlbl.Text = s & NumberFormat2(Value, 2, 1, 1, True) & SuffixText
End If

This is a new subroutine.:
Public Sub SetTextValue (strTextValueIn As String)
    strTextValue = strTextValueIn
End Sub

One suggestion:
Instead of:
B4X:
Public Sub SetTextValue (strTextValueIn As String)
    strTextValue = strTextValueIn
End Sub
use this with the first character "s" lower case:
B4X:
Public Sub setTextValue (strTextValueIn As String)
    strTextValue = strTextValueIn
End Sub
If you use SetTextValue, it is a method and you must use it like MyCustomView.SetTextValue(MyText)
if you use setTextValue, then it becomes a property and you use it like MyCustomView.TextValue = MyText

Thanks for the advice. I will make the change. Most likely I will rename it to prevent confusion.

Here's the what the gauge looks like with the digital time in it.

Would be nice if you can share this code. Thanks.
I will try to reply with the code tomorrow. I'm assuming you also want to see the code that I send to the class I modified. I will also reply with the entire class so you can see the modified class module.

For anyone who is interested in how I implemented the suggestions from Erel, here's what I did. Later I will make the changes in the coding suggested by klaus.

This is how I set up the gauge. It's set to hold up to 4 hours in ticks.

Screenshot 2020-12-26 at 11.46.43.png

This is the subroutine from Erel. I just commented out the parts I didn't need. I'm using it for just the hours and minutes.:
Sub ConvertMillisecondsToString(lngTicks As Long) As String
    Dim hours, minutes As Int
'    Dim seconds As Int
    hours = lngTicks / DateTime.TicksPerHour
    minutes = (lngTicks Mod DateTime.TicksPerHour) / DateTime.TicksPerMinute
'    seconds = (lngTicks Mod DateTime.TicksPerMinute) / DateTime.TicksPerSecond
'    Return $"$1.0{hours}:$2.0{minutes}:$2.0{seconds}"$
    Return $"$1.0{hours}:$2.0{minutes}"$
End Sub

Here's how I'm sending the ticks from the B4XSeekbar and incremental buttons to the gauge.:
Sub B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue_TouchStateChanged (Pressed As Boolean)

    GaugeSleepTimer.SetTextValue(ConvertMillisecondsToString(B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value))
    GaugeSleepTimer.CurrentValue = B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value

    kvs.Put("SleepTimerTicks", GaugeSleepTimer.CurrentValue)

    If ServiceModule.blnScheduleIsPlayingSong = False Then
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "CancelTheSong")
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "PlayTheSong")
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "StartSleepTimer")
    End If
End Sub

Sub ImageViewPlus_Click

    B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value = B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value + 60000
    GaugeSleepTimer.SetTextValue(ConvertMillisecondsToString(B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value))
    GaugeSleepTimer.CurrentValue = B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value

    kvs.Put("SleepTimerTicks", GaugeSleepTimer.CurrentValue)

    If ServiceModule.blnScheduleIsPlayingSong = False Then
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "CancelTheSong")
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "PlayTheSong")
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "StartSleepTimer")
    End If
End Sub

Sub ImageViewMinus_Click

    B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value = B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value - 60000
    GaugeSleepTimer.SetTextValue(ConvertMillisecondsToString(B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value))
    GaugeSleepTimer.CurrentValue = B4XSeekBarSleepTimerValue.Value

    kvs.Put("SleepTimerTicks", GaugeSleepTimer.CurrentValue)

    If ServiceModule.blnScheduleIsPlayingSong = False Then
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "CancelTheSong")
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "PlayTheSong")
        CallSubDelayed(ServiceModule, "StartSleepTimer")
    End If
End Sub

Modified version of the gauge class. I added code for the designer and a new subroutine so I could access it from my coding. All new code is highlighted.:
'version 2.00

If you use SetTextValue, it is a method and you must use it like MyCustomView.SetTextValue(MyText)
if you use setTextValue, then it becomes a property and you use it like MyCustomView.TextValue = MyText
I might have missed it in the booklet. Thanks for refreshing our memory.
