@Gnappos (and others)
The "
Dummies" in ABM for Dummies refers
specifically to
ME! I needed to create this so I understood what I
thought I knew...
I have no formal training in any programming language what-so-ever... I started out as an automotive mechanic (formally schooled - passed a 2 year course in 1 year).
I took on the task of coding out of necessity, rather than a desire. Everything I know about this subject - I taught myself. This meant reading, studying and practising everything that could help me learn. B4X forum and the dev framework played a 95% role in this endevour. Hell, I couldn't even spell "If" and "Else" when I first started - let alone comprehend the concept!
One important thing I learned very early on was - "
How to Ask a Question".
By this I mean -
You must understand what you DON'T understand.
You have gone over the issue up, down and sideways - and still can't figure it out (most times you will solve it on your own!). Only then (and as a last resort - rather than a first) will you be able to formulate a
properly constructed question, with enough detail defined to allow your support network to EVEN want to jump in and help you out. They all know much more about this than you (at that moment) - providing they have some idea of what you are asking / talking about.... As far as I call recall, only the Amazing Kreskin was a mind reader... ( or a charlitin - or knew human behaviour ).
We are all sitting on our thumbs right now and a great time to learn "new things". We (unless you are front-line) got nothing but time...
This is an old post - start a new one in some other section for ongoing comments - like General Chit Chat or Forum Discussion... (like I should have done....)
Thanks
