Android Question About GCM registration

Is it better to call the GCM registration at each App_Start or once a day (week, month ?)

From experience, I have found that you only need to call the registration once, after that the token seems to remain valid.

I have 20+ devices using GCM and the registration is only ever done once on App install.

Hi.
I have moved now to the Apple service for the cloud messaging and I see in the B4I example the registration is repeated at each app start.
I was wondering if it is better to do it also for Android devices, because I see there is a mechanins the token becomes no longer valid after some time
