AChartEngine is a charting library for Android applications, currently supporting over 10 chart types. It is WAY better than the charting library that is offered in B4A and it is a must-have for anyone who wants to use professional charts in their app.

AChartEngine is an open-source framework, free to use in any free or commercial application. You can download the library at http://achartengine.org/content/download.html

Who is willing to convert this to a B4A library? Pleeeeeease? :)

Corwin42 has started to wrap this library

...and he stopped development in 2012, so I'm afraid that doesn't help me. Bummer. Charts are also available in Viewpack I, but not all properties of the original library are implemented, which makes it useless for me.

There are SO many nice libraries available for B4A, except professional looking graphs... :-(

That shouldn't be too difficult to do a charting library in B4A with the Accelerated Surface library. You have all functions needed to do all kinds of charts.

Sure, I could re-invent the wheel and do it all myself, but that's a bit stupid if there is already such a nice library available... if only I had a bit more JAVA knowledge I could write a wrapper myself, but unfortunately, the lack of that knowledge is in fact the reason I have turned to B4A :)

That depends whether the library is easy to wrap. It's not always the case, and instead spending hours to wrap it, it's better to write directly what you need in B4A.

The reason why I stopped it was that it is a huge bunch of work to wrap all classes of such a framework. It is quite easy to write a wrapper for AChartEngine but it would take weeks or months to wrap the whole framework. And if you are ready with this lot of work you will realize that just the great feature you want is not supported by the framework.

I think a custom code module like Erels chart engine is a good place to start and then adding features you need is a much faster approach than wrapping a whole framework.
