Activesync & downloading

Hi All,

Complete newbie here, I have some questions regarding connecting to a mobile device for program downloading to mobile device.

I have activesync 4.5 installed on my pc & connected as guest but in activesync or windows explorer under Mobile Device I have nothing, no files, no folders, no sd cards etc are shown. How can I download a program I have written (in Basic4ppc of course) to the mobile device? I have looked here & find no threads to downloading programs. Are you guys using something other than the very troublesome activesync?
I have 2 mobile devices both running win ce 5.0 both with exactly the same results, have tried re-installing activesync & also different versions of activesync but always the same useless result.

Any help or advice here would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

There's lots more you can tell us (though I'm not expert enough to help directly).

For instance what PC OS are you running, and do the other synchronisation functions (in particular file synchronisation!) all work?

What mobile device? AGraham keeps telling us that Win CE is not a homogenous product the same on all devices in the same way as WM5.0 ff.

Mike.

Hi MJCoon,

Thanks for your reply.

The pc is running windows xp pro with sp3.
None of the sync functions are working, in activesync under file menu "file" is disabled but yet activesync indicates with either device that it's connected as guest.

The mobile devices I'm using:
The first device is:
Comfile Technology CUWIN3200 using win ce 5.0 pro bought from comfile technology.
The second device is :
MID(Mobile internet device) bought from Maplin electronics (part no. A10JQ) using win ce 5.0 (C5G). what this version is I'm not sure!
I did find however if I compile my program, use setup builder to convert to a cab & then drop the cab & setup exe files onto an sd card, pop the sd card into the mobile device, I can then install & run my software.
Not too worried about activesync now after discovering that but would like to get it working too.

Thanks for the reply,

Wex :)
