Android Question Add Button to Bottom Bar

Is there a way to add a clickable button to the bar at the bottom of the screen? Any help greatly appreciated.

dont know if theres a way to add button in nav bar,
i guess nav bar is not part of the activity layout

No. You can not change this area. It is handled by Android.

Thank you ronell and DonManfred for your replies. corwin42 managed to add a clickable menu icon to this area in his SlideMenu class. I was hoping I could do the same thing, but without the menu. Now I can stop hoping. Thanks again

But can use the Snackbar from Android Design Support library. if that helps....
