Android Question Adding Admob Stuff to your App

Hi Guys,

So I've created my app and I'd like to monetize it with admob.

I have googled all over the place and keep coming back to the same tutorials that request I copy google-play-services.jar into my app folders.

However, I am using B4A v5.00 and my SDK installed google play services revision 39. This does not have a google-play-services.jar listed where the tutorials say.

I've set up the admob account, I have my playstore account etc, that's all good, its getting the ads into the app :-/

Once I have my app out there, hopefully it will pay for a newer version of B4A which would be good, but until then I'd like to just display simple banner adds on it.

Does anyone know of or can guide me with updated instructions on how to get this going?

The "correct" solution is to upgrade to B4A 6+ and use FirebaseAdMob.

With B4A v5 you will need to use AdMob library and download an old version of Android SDK that does include google-play-services.jar.

Hi Erel,

Ok so I have downloaded a trial of the latest B4A 6.8 (looks nice btw).

However I cannot find these libraries that every tutorial mentions to add.

The closest I can find is a bunch of firebase-ads-10.2.0.aar and .pom files in android-sdk\extras\google\m2repository\com\google\firebase\firebase-ads\10.2.0

Be nice if there was a menu option "Monetize App" and it placed all the right libs and code in your IDE

I don't know if the trial contains all core libraries so you might need the full version to get the firebase admob working.

yip, got all that installed - and more. SDK manager looks like the screen shot in https://www.b4x.com/android/forum/threads/integrating-firebase-services.67692/

Its step 5 in those instructions that I get stuck on.

5 Follow library instructions - which library instructions?

No probs putting the app together - just issues putting all the foundation for it together
