Android Question "afollestad MaterialDialogs reborn" not working anymore

It seems that @DonManfred 's "afollestad MaterialDialogs reborn" isn't working anymore using the AndroidX SDK. The example file crashes with:

android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #39: Error inflating class android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView

Yes, Jettifier says "nothing to do".

Tried with https://www.b4x.com/android/forum/threads/materialdialogsv7.72043 and that one works, so I'll probably switch to that library (although it has less functions and will require a rewrite of my app).

(I recommend you to use B4XDialogs, you can customize it however you like)

I have the same issue
What about old projects
that means when I upgrade any old project, I will change MaterialDialogs to B4XDialogs and slidmenu to B4XDrawer and don't know if other libraries are not working.
I think this will be an added burden

It should be simple to fix this issue.

Find the layout XML file and replace android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView with androidx.recyclerview.widget.RecyclerView
