It is not the first time someone speaks of the intention of Samsung to slowly abandon Android platform in the coming years. This time, however, it is not a rumor coming from somewhere on the net, but some internal documents used by attorneys Apple during the process which is between the two companies for some time now, which would demonstrate the objective clear: abandon Android to bet on a proprietary operating system. Surprising? Probably not, just think of as Samsung is slowly trying to push the platform Tizen.
I can't see Samsung abandoning Android anytime soon. It makes sense maybe for their low end phones and smart watches. But not high end phones. The software market is far too big on Android for them to just walk away.
They'll probably do both. You'd suspect that they believe that some of their legal issues are Android based as opposed to Samsung created, so removing themselves from Android could offer a benefit to them. They do dwarf other handset rivals in terms of numbers of units sold.
It seems that Samsung will release two smartphones with OS Tizen in the summer. Even if it were an excellent S.O., it will be a failure, in my opinion; also the MS gnawing little market!
