Andoid market free or fee?

Someone mentioned its $25 charge to register to upload Android applications to the market?
Does anyone know is that true?
...If so anyway getting round the charge?

Sorry but there is no way of getting around the signup fee. You can however list your apps with 3rd party markets like Handango - BlackBerry Apps, Android Apps, Windows Mobile Apps & More which is free to join. The problems I see with listing with markets like handango is your audience is a lot smaller and they take a bigger chunk of the sale as compared to Google. handango takes 40% vs Google 30%.
