iOS Question APN certificate renewal

Just to be sure; when renewing the certificate and uploading it to Google, I don't need to rebuild the app, do I?

The distribution profile refers to push notifications as an enabled capability, but doesn't have the actual certificate linked to it, as far as I can see.
