app guidelines

Hello,

I'm after some advice

I've been thinking about guidelines between mobile & tablet.

Regular apps:

if you list data gridwize will you take benefit of a higher resolution and just display more lines

or

use the same amount but with bigger better readable font ?

For games it's similar actually.

if you have a game grid of 12x12 which is fine on a tablet but icons might become too small on smaller phone displays.

Will you prevent the app to work on resolutions lower than 320px width?

320/12=26.6px

my old phone was 240 so 240/12=20px and that's really too tiny to click on I guess?

I'm not really a gamer so I don't have a clue how others implement this.

I tried to install candy crush but it says it's not compatible with my device, it doesn't tell why tho so I don't know if it's because of the 2.3.6 or my low resolution. (320x480)

For an app I have, I use 3 different layouts depending on the screen size. For phones (<6 inch), I have a (forced) portrait only layout with a main panel that get changed depending on the function. For tablets, I have a portrait and landscape layout that has multiple panels. It's for a paid app and I didn't want the user to pay for a phone version and a tablet version.
