It's been obvious for years that Apple do this. Anyone who has an old apple phone knows they release is updates that cripple end of life products. My wife's 4s is evidence of this.

I don't like this company at all. their business practice is nasty, to say the least. long time ago I wrote about them controlling how developers should pay them for any app they write and some people on this forum didn't agree. they are now under investigation for damaging older iPhone versions by slowing them down so people are forced to buy new ones.. who asked them to save the battery? bull crab. why do they (correct) this mistake at the end of each version and the release of new versions? they force developers to use objective C, they force them to upload the apps through their computers so they are forced to by MACs. they rob you of $100 (at least) to install your app that you developed in your own iPhone.. and yet no one objects this. A textbook definition of extortion. I bet Congress will not punish this company because it's apple and it's likes that brought them to Washington. Their are loyal to these big corporation not to the American people.

First of all, I'm not an Apple fanboy, nor Android, they're both tools for me to make a (small) living. I will answer some of these though:

Apple:
"... controlling how developers should pay them for any app they write and some people on this forum didn't agree."

As do Google, Microsoft and any other company that offers you a valuable service. If you don't agree, so what? Move on.

"... now under investigation for damaging older iPhone versions by slowing them down so people are forced to buy new ones.."

Where's the guilt in being investigated? Lets see the results before they're hung out to dry.

" who asked them to save the battery? bull crab. why do they (correct) this mistake at the end of each version and the release of new versions?"

Its their OS, I'm sure they know more about it than anyone else. Would you prefer your battery to suddenly die (or catch fire)?

" they force developers to use objective C, "

Have you ever heard of B4X? There is a very low cost and easy to use IDE called B4I that doesn't need you to know anything about Obc-C. You run this on a Windows PC and don't need a Mac computer at all.

"they force them to upload the apps through their computers so they are forced to by MACs."

As above

" they rob you of $100 (at least) to install your app that you developed in your own iPhone.."

I paid £79 (which is less than $100) for my dev licence. Their charge is higher than Google and from my own experience is a much better service. Its worth every penny. No, its more than that, its a valuable investment.

" and yet no one objects this. A textbook definition of extortion. I bet Congress will not punish this company because it's apple and it's likes that brought them to Washington. Their are loyal to these big corporation not to the American people."

Really? I despair. If it isn't for you, don't do it. No point bitching about it.

Please take this as hearsay (I'm too lazy to look up where I read this). An issue with the battery saving code may be that Apple is hiding the fact that Apple is having issues with battery life. This issue may either be intentional insofar as Apple knew it was buying the cheapest batteries and was aware of their issue of short life span or unintentional in that Apple ran into a bad batch and was trying (rightly or wrongly) to remedy the issue via software.

Actually that's $109 according to current exchange rates. They also charge that per year and paying that much to distribute free apps is ridiculous.

You're absolutely correct on the conversion and correct that they charge that per year but as for ridiculous, thats for each individual to decide.

At least like this the store is not flood with junk apps. Developers that does not make those 99$ will not renew their account and their apps wont be available anymore like this there is a balance between the available apps and user amount and you have better chances as a developer. On android you pay once and can put lots of apps and every 10 years old can do that too after paying once 25$.

I like apple choice more. Its maybe expensive but you have better visiability on the store.

on android you see a lot of cheaters too.

creating the same game several times with minor changes and publish with different accounts just hoping to attract some people several times over different apps.

and about the costs... when you have a few apps or just 1 that generates some minimal daily ad revenue you're out of costs for the dev license so it's not that bad.

Cheaters are cheaters and we already can see them. But the final customer when he buys from them he can understand that he placed his 2 dollars in the worst place.
The only thing we can do is to provide the best app in our mind with the lowest price for his eyes. And we will continue to win the game and work without suffering too much

I am not talking about the stores guys.. In fact I am not using Google store.. I wrote many apps for small businesses and others for friends and family.. With Android I conveniently send apk files to them.. Case closed. Imagine if that was for iPhone.
