my daughter really likes to read books. she ask always for new books and she can read the same book several times.
i don't read books at all. i think that in whole my life i read only 1 single book at it was because in school i had to make a project about it.
i went with my daughter a few days ago and bought her more books (that are not available in the library) because she also takes books from there.
and i was thinking to start reading something by myself, any suggestions for an interesting book?

it is hard to tell. i do like watching documentaries about the past like The Middle Ages, The French revolution, The Roman empire,...
if you ask me about movies i like then it would be:

die hard, braveheart, lethal weapon, scarface, face/off,..

we have similar tastes.

I also like to read and research the history of different religions.

Yes, @oparra, there is a movie based on the book. But we were discussing books now, so I'm not sure how it's relevant bringing the movie into the discussion.

It was just a suggestion, I also see that @ilan is religious and if you don't tell him what the book is about, I don't think he will read it.

You could think between.....

..... the mouse_pressed event and the screen response - Hear the keyboard - and not panic when half the the screen went black........ ..... How nice if modern IDE is as clean as that. I am surprise how much the system back then has the ability to do some advanced features such as debugger...

But perhaps I have misunderstood how religion works.

In any case, as ilan presumably is an adult that can think for himself, I imagine he would ignore my advice on not researching the book if he actually felt he needed to investigate it.

everything is ok guys. i actually saw that this book has very good critics. i also saw that it is available in german. actually the author is german. i understand german much better then english ?

i may give it a try, thanx @Sandman and @oparra

you may want to search for biographies of famous characters in history (e.g. Nero, Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, Caterina de' Medici, Leonardo da Vinci..).
Another close field could be made by novels about fictious investigators operating at those times. There're good ones where following the investigation you learn something about topics related to the era in which the story is taking place.
Others are from the same authors on whose novels they directed movies you probably watched (in my opinion, books are alway much better than movies).

I never read "novels".

I use to read technical books all the time and thats how I taught myself programming and electronic design.

But ever since the internet came about, I don't read any books anymore (and a little because my eye sight is not what it used to be)
