I've just installed B4A on a Windows 10 system for the first time and I'm running into a lot of problems that I don't recall ever seeing before. The first one is that the SDK manager keeps getting stuck on downloading this file:
On the first attempt the file install progress list stopped at the referenced item. When I clicked on "Refresh" the remaining items were installed, except for the one file referenced above. Now when I click on Refresh the only item which re-attempts is the one I've indicated here. I've tried a number of times again, no change
I found another unresolved instance of this problem on the forum:
At the end of that thread you asked the original poster if the direct link to that file worked. In my case the answer is yes, the direct link works, but the SDK manager is still choking on it.
Sounds to me that there is no issue at all. Maybe the interface is a bit confusing. The logs tell you that this file is downloaded and eventually the list should appear. The file itself will never appear in the list.
OK, if the "Downloading" message for this file re-appears each time that a refresh occurs then that's OK? Putting it more directly, is the development environment hindered in some way if this file is not present?
yes. It is the online overview of the awailable maven artifacts. You just see the name while downloading. Afterwards the content from the files is showed up using the Items in the list.
