B4A Bridge Issue

I frequently use the "Tools/Connect to Device or Emulator" in designer in order to display the design screen on my device. When finished, I find that I have to go to the device's home screen, then go to Manage Apps and do a Force Close on the B4A bridge in order to free it up to be able to connect to the device in the IDE to compile/run the code. Simply going to Tools/Disconnect from Device or Emulator does not seem to actually free up the connection. If I try to compile and run the code with doing that Force Close step, I get a "No Device Found" type message, even though the Bridge says "Connected", after closing the designer. Anybody know what I might be missing here?

Bridge/Designer

I understand your saying they are not related, but... If I go directly to Designer without first going to Tools/B4A Bridge/Connect to Device, I get a Device Not found when I double-click Connect to Device in the Designer screen. Another observation: When I Disconnect from Device in the Desiger, the activity I was working on stays on the screen of the device. I would expect it to disappear once I disconnect. Is that not correct?
