Android Question B4A Bridge Not Connecting to Samsung Note20 Ultra

I recently upgraded to a Samsung Note20 Ultra, model SM-N986. I installed B4A Bridge from Google Play Store. I am using B4A v10.2 on Windows 10. All current updates on the phone and Windows.

When I try to connect to B4A Bridge in B4A, the status bar alternates between "Trying to connect" and "Connected." The app on my Note20 never shows a connection. The wifi icon blinks, and in my notification tray it always says "Disconnected." Both the computer and phone are on the same wifi router. I have checked the IP address of the phone, and it's correct. I have allowed access to storage, allowed permission "Install unknown apps," and "Appear on top" is on. I have reinstalled B4A Bridge, pressed Stop, force closed, everything. I have tried with and without ftp server enabled. While it's trying to connect, File Explorer in B4A's menu also alternates between enabled and disabled. The phone app stays on "Waiting for connections." But so far nothing seems to work.

B4A Bridge worked fine on my previous device, an S8. I'm not sure what else I can do. Can anyone offer any help?

Edit: Until I can figure it out, I'll connect my Note20 to my computer via USB. I can still compile & run, so all is not lost.

Hi @rmgb

There are internet providers that prevent the connection of B4A brigde to the router WIFI, so try buying a new router WIFI and connecting the mobile to that new router WIFI.

Let me know if you can do this test.

Cordially

Oddly, I had exactly the same issue. Sadly I don't know how or when I/it resolved! https://www.b4x.com/android/forum/threads/b4a-bridge-not-working.121013/
My device is a Galaxy S20 Ultra.

I only remembered a day or so ago that B4A bridge didn't work back in August. But it seems to work fine now.

All I can think of is I've done several clean installations of B4A until following the instructions properly!
My S20 has also had two Android software updated since then.

Also, I know Samsung do have their own USB driver version for windows. IIRC, the driver Comes with Samsung DEX and/or Samsung Smart Switch PC.

As you can see in the linked post, @Erel did reply that USB Debug mode can be used instead.

As I said, it worked last week with my other phone. So it's definitely not the router (which isn't from my internet provider anyway).

Thanks for replying. I think I might just stick with a USB connection.

Aren't computers great? :D

I ran across either that thread or another similar one. I've been using the USB after about 4 or 5 tries. I'll probably like it better. I have a bad habit of laying my cord down and forgetting where I put it. Maybe B4A will break that habit!

Thanks for the reply.
