I'm experiencing a serious problem with host builder timing out or reporting filename length errors. I've attached the message relating to the latter.
Now I will expand on the filename or path length exceeded error which is incorrect firstly as the filepath+name is less than 100 characters yet the compiler states it exceeds 260 characters. I found a work around by putting my project and key folders closer to the root of the drive. But then I encountered the compiler timing out and the temporary files reaching 1gig in size even for a skeleton project.
Has anyone experienced this ever? I have not until I upgraded to v3.6 I don't know if it is just a coincidence and the host builder is acting up. The host builder is great and most convenient if we don't want the extra expense and hassle of buying and configuring a Mac but when these issues arise and then just go away after a long debate it makes you scratch your head.
Anyway I'm getting frustrated not being able to compile or build and I need to know if this issue is isolated to me and or my User ID.
Hi Markos,
Unfortunately this problem occurs not only with the hostbuilder, with my Mac mini it is also not much better.
Often, this approach helps:
1. deinstall app
2. tool-> Clean project
3. start B4i again
