Same error here, other letters works perfectly fine (I tried about 10 other letters @Erel, not the whole alphabet).

B4J version: 5.50 BETA #1
Parsing code. Error
Error parsing program.
Error description: a is not a valid identifier.
Occurred on line: 16 (Main)
For a = 0 To 100

It was an issue related to obfuscation. It is fixed in beta #2 (www.b4x.com/b4j/files/beta.exe).
