B4PPC WinMobile 7 support?

Will B4ppc get compilation support for the new WM7 o/s?

I am quite uncertain which system I should use on which to continue my nature freeware. It seems the old WinMobile is dead in the water now.

I am unable to set up my laptop to work with Android emulation and Android4PPC, it is just so complex, and this is before I have even tried writing code with Android4PPC.

So I was hoping WM7 compilation might be coming with a new version of Basic4PPC.

I encountered a problem with my lack of intelligence. It was very complex. My main problem was in linking the software with the android pda emulator. I couldn't understand how to do that.

I wish I was born with more brains!

I will try again to get it to run one of the demo programs, especially as W7 may never happen. I bet implimenting W7 will be as complex for you as Android has been, so I will concentrate on Android again. See if I can work it all out and get a program to run. :sign0161:

This is not a problem with B4A but with me being dumb.

Thankyou E

You don't need to. The IDE should find the emulator automatically if one is running or should start the AVD Manager so you can create or start an emulator if it cannot find one.

Once the paths in Tools -> Configure Paths are correct you don't need to do any more configuration.

this is really depressing news, sarah, is b4a really so different from b4ppc? ...& tougher u say? I hopped on to the ship rather late (got b4ppc last month) & am v happy developing applications for personal use with b4ppc. Its dam easy to write in b4ppc, i can really write code so fast on it! But now that winmo is dead i was planning to rewrite the code on b4a somewhere next yr. i was hoping b4a wud be similar to b4ppc (not seen any b4a code yet). But i guess ill be stuck wen i try to shift. Any way i do plan to have a peek at the demo version of b4a soon to get the hang of it. Well we can only hope that Erel manages to make b4a as easy as b4ppc soon. Its soon going to become very difficult to get good winmo handsets, win7 not doing as well as it was hoped, so we will all have to shift to android. We will just have to depend on Erel or get stuck.

I haven't looked at B4A documentation much. I'm sure there is/will be a need for a tutorial on porting B4P code to B4A...

What I love about Basic4PPC is that it is such an easy way to quickly write stuff, even on the device itself.

The problems I am having is not with B4A itself or the actual coding but with the setting up of the emulator system on my laptop. I am sure that once the emulator is working things will work more easily. But as others have sorted out the emulator thing it must be me being dumb that is causing me problems.

I have managed to make B4Android environment work. It was easy.

The problem was purely my own misunderstanding. As A said, it is automatic. Thanks.

But with Nokia now choosing to go with Microsoft, will they sink or swim together?
