Barcode scanner

I have some questions about barcode scanners and SMS:

1- can I use the Zing library for Datamatrix and QR-Code ?
2- if it supports at least one of the above formats, is it possible to scan a code with multiple lines ?
3- is it possible to check if the wi-fi is enabled and connected ?
4- how can I send a SMS using Basic4Android ?
