Wish Base project of "always-on" app

Very often Erel suggested looking at the source of the "Background location tracking" project when you want to get an app that is always active, even in the background.

With the latest from Google and the new Receiver type modules, an updated example would be needed, I think.

I take the opportunity to add that it would be useful to have a forum containing only basic projects like this or at least use a special tag to find them on the site.

From what i understood the Receiver Module won't help you in this case. You will still have to use a Sticky Service that is always running in background. So it is the same it was before.

sorry, you are right. a forground service (not sticky). anyway a receiver is not the solution in this case.

"Anyway" the "Wish" is mainly about:

1 the updating that foundational example
2 this type of basic, fundamental example projects, should be in a single forum or easily listable using a specific tag ([BASIC]?)
