Hi,
I finally got an HP 210 VGA PDA and I must say that the screen on it
is excellent. It looks so much better than a standard QVGA PDA screen.
I recompiled this program using the QVGA option so that it would run
on the HP 210.
I tried to add an Icon to the program in the Basic4ppc Desktop IDE
but it did not get added to the program once it was compiled. All I see
is a red square for an Icon once the program is installed on the HP 210.
I was reading some of the other posts and they suggested doing a
"Soft Reset" to get the Icons to show up after installing a new application.
I performed a "Soft Reset" and now the Icon for the installed app shows up.
So, that seems to be the "trick" where I was only getting a "red square"
showing up for the Icon right after I installed the app. You need to perform
a "Soft Reset" to get the Icon for the application you just installed to show up.
The JPG image below is a picture of the HP 210 VGA PDA running the
Basic4ppc application in QVGA mode. I took the picture with a Canon 8.0
Mega Pixel camera but, the lighting was not the greatest. It looks much
better on the HP 210 device itself.
I am using basic4ppc version 6.3. I can't wait to upgrade to version 6.8
and try out all of the VGA specific features.
