Android Question Ble example

I tried the Ble example using Android-18. The program compiled OK but it failed to discover known nearby devices. I tested on a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Would there be a problem if I am using bluetooth to connect with the phone, i.e. does the B4A handler grab the bluetooth radio exclusively?
