Android Question bluring whole views in activity

In my project i have lot of label editexts etc...i want to blur all the view and want to show a circling loading gif...beacuse am downloading some thing from net...I dont like to disable all views because its ugly..or somthing like diming whole activity and show a gif animation...HOw can i do that...i know about gif library...dont know how to blur or dimm all other views in activity

On the blurring views side .. here is a small example that utilizes a timer and panel. by increasing the panels alpha the views are slowly dimmed.
I'm unsure what other options are available .. something to play with anyway.
