Booking.com is really impressive. (Not.)

Scary , as I remembers many years ago deciding which to use for overseas bookings. Luckily I decided on Hotels.com ... with never a problem.
Payments always thru PayPal.

I have been long time not traveling and stay in any hotels. I very seldom use booking.com then. My favourite website was Agoda.com

P/s I just find out agoda is acquired by booking.com

2 years ago, 4 families bought apartments through Booking.com in the same location and time in Greece. The fee was charged in advance (January) to be cheaper. A month before departure, booking.com canceled all reservations (July) because the facility became unreliable according to them. Of course, the flights have already been booked and paid for. As it turned out, bookking.com transferred the money to the facility's account and the facility broke off the market. Booking washes hands, does not want to return the cash and sends you back to the facility that no longer exists. We quickly found other objects matching the tickets we had bought. We all filed our Charge-back complaints with banks. Some of them recovered their money after 2 weeks, I had to fight the bank for 3 months. Remember, the "charge back" has VISA and MsterCard, whether it is a credit card or a pre-summer card. Even Revoult returned the money in a month. Since then, the fee at bookin.com ONLY FOR A LOCATION, I will never give my card there again.

I've had similar experience with booking.com so I stopped using them.
Booking.com is from the future, soon all companies will take money this way.
Our bank accounts are in our names but they are run by the corporations.

So is it better we use crypto-currency? ?

Unfortunately not, the only way is to walk around with gold in your wallet.

i just made a reservation through Airbnb that was even cheaper. for me, Airbnb looks much more professional and i even could contact the owner before i made the reservation, unlike booking.com
i hope we will have a good time there and i will return with a lot of energy so i can work on new b4x apps ?

haha, that startup has already started. I am a co-founder in a startup Local OTA called Booking myTravel. One thing that pushed us to do that is this situation with Booking.com and small properties in Samoa. Our business model NEVER passes cardholder details to the Product supplier. We also hold the funds in trust until the product or service is delivered, somewhat similar to AirBnB.

We use B4X for ALL of our various existing and future apps.

Hopefully we will be in a counrty near you soon...

Over the last 40 years I've faced sooooo many "things just happening" so I do not wonder. Security is a joke. And it feels like it is getting worse (hacker attacks, dumb people, etc.).
