Android Question Camera measuring software

I am going to develop an app which will use the camera to measure the height & distance away of objects i.e. buildings etc.

I have looked through the forum but can not see anyone else doing this ?

Any help to start me off would be helpful

Do you have any specific algorithm in mind? There isn't any simple way to measure distances and heights of unknown object.
