Android Question camera QR-code scanner in service

Is it possible now to make Android QR-code scanner with the switched off screen ?
It means that working with camera from a service, long-play scanner searching the QR-codes constantly.
Real ?

I don't think that Android camera works with the screen turned off.

You can implement a long running task with an activity by using PhoneWakeState.KeepAlive.
