Can I Use MySQL On My HTC

I am looking into developing an MySQL application that will collect data on my HTC HD2 phone and every day add it to an existing MySQL database which will be viewed online. Is this possible??:sign0085:

Where is your existing database?
On the desktop?

You can use the HTTP to connect to a web service that will pass the requests to the MySQL database. The web service can be written with PHP or any other server side programming language.

At the moment nothing has been set up. The database is 'planned' to be held on a nas and available for enquiry through the internet. For ease of updating I wanted to write something on my HTC HD2 that I can 'download/update' on the nas. I plan to keep the same data on the nas and hd2 so I want to use something that is compatible if possible. The nas has mysql available to use hence my original question. It may be possible to use sqlite on both, I have not confirmed this option yet.
