Can this be done?

I have an idea for a program but looking for some advice on how to implement it.
IDEA:
Use my phone as an input device on the PC, so for any given application active on the PC the phone displays buttons with keyboard shortcuts for that application, pressing the phone display acts like pressing the key combination on the keyboard.
Things I need learn – can anyone point me in the right direction.
1) How to recognise the active program on the PC
2) How to talk between the pc and device and pass files/information between them
3) How to emulate the pc keyboard key strikes
Is this possible within B4PPC?

If it is this will make a nice application.:sign0060:
Thanks,
Simon.

If I was writing such a program I would have a handler program running on the pc then device can communicate with that via bluetooth.

But Im trying to understand what would be the advantage of the device sending the shortcut info, you could easily have the handler program having a small window and click buttons on the screen to run the keystrokes directly??

True, and this might be my first step, get it all working on the PC. The reason for doing this is it would require me to move the mouse click the button and then re select the program, with the phone though I would just tap the screen as if it was a key stroke.

ok I understand, still a lot of work to save a few keystrokes Lol!
In the meantime you could just define Function keys as macro's of clicks and keystrokes. On Windows download the free Microsoft 'IntelliType Pro' software to do it.
