Wish Canvas as a View in the designer

Just wondering if it is possible to add the Canvas as a view to the designer

Canvas is not a view (like in B4J). It is an object that draws over other views.

Thanks Erel. If I wanted to create panels with gradient fills in the designer, would the best way be to create a class that added a canvas to the panel and exposed a method to define the gradient?
