Cell location

I believe that it can be done with the new library created by alwaysbusy: http://www.b4x.com/forum/additional-libraries-official-updates/8613-wifi-library.html

this is what I am using
but strange thing is that it is working only when I am close to my wifi

when I go our the cell reading is not changing, untill I am close to wifi from my list (can be on different place)

something is wrong with this libary

alwaysbusy doesn't seem to respond to Twitter posts so I can't get support with his library. I might have to write my own.

My understanding is that you need to have an active internet connection for this. Your wifi will detect the name of all routers around. These and there coordinates are in Google's huge database (or Apple's). So if you are not near your wifi you would need a 3G connection to receive the coordinates of the closest router.

I tested this. When I drove with GPS disabled but 3G on I always get quite exact coordinates in well populated areas. When I put 3G off - no new data anymore. 3G on - data keeps coming.
