Change Border on EditText

Is it possible to manipulate the border of the EditText? I've seen some Apps that have different border lines and/or I want to change it depending on the information that a EditText is displaying.

You will need to replace the EditText background.

You can try putting a panel behind the EditText that is slightly larger than the EditText and change its background.

Won't the EditText's border still show, or is it possible to turn that off somehow?

It will still show. If you want you can place the EditText inside another Panel that is slightly smaller than the EditText to remove the original border.

Though it will probably be easier to just replace the background.
