Wish Clean File Folder

Ok, I know this is a result of my own, sloppy, project management but....

Would it be possible to add an option to Clean File Folder to remove any files that are not specified in a form and not mentioned in code?

I have a whole load of image files in the project (i.e. they are listed in the Files tab) which were added to see how they looked as part of the UI (button backgrounds etc.) but then abandoned. The Clean File Folder tool does not remove these as they are mentioned in the project even though they are never used.

There should be warnings about each of these files.
Open the Files folder, delete all the files based on the warnings and click on the Sync button.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean by 'delete all the files based on the warnings'. I don't see any warnings, just a list of files that I have added to the project.

The point is I have many images that are no longer being used, but there is no way (I can see) to find those that are in the File Manager but not actually used anywhere in code. I appreciate that in complex projects this may not be a wise thing to do - even I load various versions of an image by building full file name in code - however it would be a huge help if the File Manager could at least check all the files it can't find a direct need for and then let me uncheck those that I know I do still need.

Even better would be an option to list all files that are in the Files folder but are not (apparently) needed by the project.

The only way I have found to do it to my satisfaction was to copy the Files folder to a temporary location, delete everything in the Files folder that I was not sure about and then copy them back once I got errors in the Visual Designer when I tried to open a Layout.

If you have added the files to one of your layouts then the IDE will consider them as being "used" and will not show any warning.

This will happen when you are somewhere in your code loading an asset file with code such as:
The compiler will see this and disable the unused file warnings as it cannot know which files are needed.

Ok, that makes sense, but I feel it might be a bit too clever! I think it might be easier to still show warnings and leave it up to the user to decide which are required. I would guess that specific ' "image" & i' situations will will be easier to spot and uncheck than '4 versions of a button background image but which one did I finally use?'
