iOS Question [Closed] host my app please?

hi all, I hope this topic isn't inappropriate.

I have a free b4x app, FarmFinder, with ios and android versions , that have been hosted on the app store and play store maybe 6 months now. it's costing me about $580 a year for the ios version to be on the app store, factoring in the monthly line charges, not counting the up front costs of an iPhone and ipad. the company I wrote it for is no doubt grateful, but not grateful enough to help with the cost.

I am hoping to find an established ios developer that already has a presence on the app store that'd be willing to host the app for the company. if you're interested, please leave a reply here or email me at warsoftapps@gmail.com.

thanks for your consideration

So basically you're looking for somebody to sponsor your customer.

Why on earth would anyone want to do that?

the company I wrote it for is no doubt grateful, but not grateful enough to help with the cost
Remove the app from the store. Case closed, move on to next project.

(Also, an argument could be made that this would be better suited for The Business Forum.)

sponsor the company? no. its more like a work of love. I didn't ask the company, I just wrote it. since I'm a truck driver, and the app is for the drivers I know at the company I know at m last job, and its quute useful. I hate to take it down, and was just hoping to find a home for it that wouldn't inconvenience or bring extra cost to anyone.

thanks for responding tho...

Aha, now I understand. You're looking for somebody to sponsor the truck drivers.

Assuming the app is appreciated by them, have you considered simply making it a paid app?

I am in contact with the manager now, an ios user, to test converting the data to an xls file. if that's successful, problem solved.

just in case you might know the answer, I made a test spreadsheet and put an imbedded url to open Google maps with the gps coords as the link text. it works on pc and android, but the standard xls viewer in the iPhone mail app won't open the link. I know this isn't the place to ask, but i don't know where the right place is... (sorry Erel)

You can reserve an AWS t3.nano instance for $2-3/month (2 core, 0.5gB, 250mB/s dl+up), this should be good enough. Firebase and maps APIs are free I believe.

$100/y dev license + $25/y hosting is definitely more stomachable than $580

edit: I apologize, didn't see that this was closed. Had it in my email lol
