Spanish Colores en TextEdit

Me pueden ayudar explicandome como pudo cambiar el color a los TextEdit ya que al cambiar el color al fondo del Layout a blanco los TextEdit no se ven.

EditText1.Color = Colors.Black 'Color fondo
EditText1.TextColor = Colors.White 'Color texto
EditText1.HintColor = Colors.Gray 'Color texto ayuda
