I'm not a fan of Microsoft, nor of their cloud solutions and Office 365. Unstable, complicated and expensive. The energy required for these internet dependencies alone is now gigantic worldwide. But it's still cheaper than bringing capable people into the company to set up a proper IT structure. One small mistake is enough and not only the in-house IT may collapse, the effects are immediately global.
And that's with powerful workstation computers that you could only dream of 20 years ago. But well, that's the way it is these days. The actual in-house IT department is only concerned with plugging all possible holes, because new loopholes are constantly being discovered in the software and then, of course, used with sufficient criminal energy. Such systems will always be vulnerable. This time it was just a small software error caused by an update. It could have been worse.
But you shouldn't always see only black. Something could work without a hitch, such as a red button that is pressed in a mobile briefcase and sends launch commands to missile silos. Then everything will work without a hitch. What a wonderful world this could be...
