currently-selected email message, contact, or appointment

Is there a way to tell what email message, contact, or appointment the user currently has selected via Outlook, if any? I would like to add some features that Pocket Outlook lacks, but it would be convenient to be able to check if the user already has a message, contact, or appointment selected, and work on that object as opposed to having to drill down to the object to be worked with.

It is not possible.
You can however let the user select a contact or appointment from your own application.

If the underlying API supports finding out which item is currently selected by Outlook, then I would suggest adding this feature to the next Basic4PPC version.
