Android Question Custom View - how to

I'm creating a simple AutoComplete text box.

It consists of an EditText and a ListView

I'd like to know how I can place the ListView above or below the EditText.

I've searched the forums but haven't seen this.

I know I could use the SearchView or AutoCompleteEditText but I want a simple one for my personal use only.

I'm now guessing no one will help me. I have aspergers syndrome and when I see other people's posts getting some kind of answer and I don't see mine it stresses me a lot.

but how do I put it into a library? I'd rather have a library so I don't have to worry about setting it up position wise.

It's not 2 questions - my library will need to look at where the view is placed and decide if it puts the listview above or below
