Yes, mine is also from 2012 ! Very cheap, 2GB of RAM, but already 64-bit simple slow processor.
But it's a very convenient to do developer's things on the same host where opened at the same time:
Windows OS with B4J
Web-browser with AI-chat and Google

Some Linux VM (ok, let it be WSL, for ex.) - several terminals
TotalCommander connected to Linux VM and files are fastly edited\updated.
But for final tests - yes, separate hardware & OS are important.
Trouble is also that WSL - uses under Windows the same system C:\ drive,
and 128 GB SSD is already not enough. I have to think to clone it onto a new bigger SSD.
Utility app "TreeSize Free" is magical: just shown me the sizes of all folders and i could clean up C:\ up to 30% from old downloaded files.
