Android Question dropbox, google drive et al.

I am aware of the dropbox OAuth Tutorial, also of Google Drive API, however:
a) can you read/write a local directory, and dropbox then takes care of syncing this directory, just as you would in .net?
b) how would you read/write less known storage providers which do not offer an API?

2. Most providers offer a REST api which you can use. Otherwise you will need to wrap their mobile SDK.
