it's simple, it makes it easier to share content between you contacts.

but I don't use it either ;) I just rightclick a file select the copy dropbox link and mail it like that.

I think that option was at the request of one of the alphabet agencies. :eek:
They will save time by not having to hack your phone to get at your data.
