Android Question edittext border only when pressed?

I have several edittexts on the screen. When i select one to make it active it gets a yellow border. but if I use MyEditText.RequestFocus, it does get focus but no border.

I have started using Voice Recognition to select which textedit has focus but its not obviously visible which one has focus.
