Not recommended for development. It just worth it when rendering or transcoding video.

No need for high end hw to develop, guys. I have this machine for 4 or 5 years now (added an ssd). So I can sit on my couch and do some stuff. I guess it's not slower in compiling than your machines (compiling does not support multicore/multithreading, right?). So it's 6.5 secs instead of 8 ? I spend my money on drinks instead.

In this world, mine looks like poor man's laptop.

But it is helping me to make my ends meet. I love it.

  • Storage
    • 447GB SSD - The system runs on it
    • 1TB WD HDD - OneDrive
    • 1TB M2 SSD - Games
    • 1TB Extern Storage USB - for non critical stuff
  • AMD Ryzen 7 1700
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
  • 16GB RAM - 32 would be better, if you work with VMs

I'm even embarrassed to put the data here.
Don't be. There's nothing shameful about being good at taking care of your equipment so you can use it for a long time. Beside my workstation, I've got a laptop that's 12 years old, and I have absolutely no plan to replace it. (Also, for the longest time I used a plastic Asus EEE netbook, which I loved dearly until it stopped working one day.)

No bad to use a word processor, no bad to play some strategic game, no bad to (try to) program in B4X.
So: no bad at all.
